AI-Art isn't really an addon, but a manual override of the default UI graphics. This is done by placing the graphics in the Interface (not AddOns) folder under the same file name and path that the game client looks for them. If it sees these graphics, it will use them instead of those in the game client. This is the same method used to manually replace fonts (via a Fonts folder). You may have seen these graphics floating around the internet, or perhaps you picked them up in a UI compilation that you downloaded previously. In any case, their creator is back to the world that is WoW, and has updated the graphics to match the current version of the game for an official release here on WoWI. There are also a few optional downloads to make a few addons match the new graphics style. So, if you're looking to give your interface a "fresh, new look", then try these new graphics.

This is a new addon to replace the window that displays when looting items (either from a killed mob, when disenchanting, fishing, etc) and the group loot frames. It gives the window a streamlined look and also displays the 3d portrait of the unit you are looting. This addon is still in development and may receive more features in the future.

TisTheSeason has support for Winterveil and Love Is In the Air (Valentine's Day) seasonal quests/achievements also.

VirtualPlates:



I'm sure many people, including myself, find it hard to play with the nameplates enabled. There have been several addons which try their hand at making nameplates easier to use and look at. Blizzard has even added features to them (threat display, castbar) giving them more use. In the next patch, you will be able to set the nameplates to overlap each other. But I think this addon may be the one to make nameplates bearable for myself and others. VirtualPlates scales nameplates based on their distance from the camera (your screen distance). Closer units will have larger nameplates, while those further away have smaller. This allows them to look integrated into the world, as opposed to just sitting there on top. In addition, this addon should work with any addon that modifies the look of the nameplates.

Does your framerate drop when in raids? Have trouble seeing a boss or mobs through a storm of Blizzard and Rain of Fire casts? There is a CVar setting in the game which controls spell detail, called "particle density" - turn it up, you get pretty spell graphics; turn it down, they're more sparse. Autograph automatically adjusts this setting based on the size of your raid. The more raid members in your group, the lower it will set it. When in Wintergrasp, it will set it to the minimum.

Spell List:



This addon is a searchable database of spells found in the game. The addon's scanner takes a range of spell IDs and queries the server to see if a spell is associated with the ID. If so, it stores the spell in the database. Many of the spells in the database are not actually accessible in the game (replaced by something else, placeholders, etc.), or are those cast by NPCs. You can also find spells cast by usable items, talents, etc. This addon is useful for basic browsing of spell data or for finding spell IDs for buff/debuff addons' filter features. Spell List also allows you to compare two spells side by side.

TwentyTwenty:



TwentyTwenty doesn't have any real effect on the game itself, but it could help you save your eyesight in "real life" - as well as some money. I know that for me, after hours of playing WoW, questing, raiding, coding, ... My eyes are tired, sore, dry, and I might start getting a headache. Why? Because I was staring at the screen for too long, and forgetting the 20-20-20 rule. This addon will remind you every 20 minutes to look at something 20+ feet away for 20 seconds. This allows your eyes to change focus, get away from the glare of the computer screen, get a chance to blink and rehydrate, and save you on headaches, eye strain, and optometrist bills. ;)

Since battlegrounds now award experience, I'm sure many of you pvp-lovers are using them to level. But are you curious about how much xp you've been gaining? SquidFrame:



Like using the default unit frames, but want to dress them up a little? Give SquidFrame a try. It is based on the addon, SquidMod, which changes the look of the gryphons on the default action bars. You can change your unit frame to the death knight unit frame graphics (used when death knights were announced at Blizzcon '07), an elite frame, a squid, etc.

Think your macro name isn't, or can't be, descriptive enough of what your macro does? Do you often forget what you have a macro set to do on shift-click? Ctrl-click? Want to remember what mounts you have in your random mount script macro? Wish you didn't have to waste valuable macro space with #showtooltip? With LayMacroTooltip, you can make custom tooltips for your macros to display any information about them you wish. Tooltips are the same if you have two macros (even across different characters) with the same macro name. So, if you want different tooltips, you'll need different macro names. But this addon seems a must for any complex macroer, with or without a poor memory. ;)

Are you fond of command lines? Do you like to keep your screen free and clear of spells you don't use/need very often? Want to summon a specific pet without having to open up the companions window and searching through your vast collection? Splaunchy is a solution for these scenarios and more. Type in a few letters of what you are looking for on the left side, and it will display things that match on the right, with their icon in the center. Hit enter once to enter your text, and twice to use the ability that was found. You can even use it to open things like the Character window, or to change which language you use in chat. Just remember that it won't work in combat, due to the nature of the game's API restrictions.

This addon looks to polish up the LFG window and add some much needed features. It will allow you to search for both groups and more players (LFG and LFM) at the same time. It also parses the note for a group's entry in the window to add question marks (?) to the columns based on what they need (see above). Level up? Need to relog? SaneLFG will keep your LFG status enabled. Need to walk your dog? There's a button to pause your LFG.

Primal Defense:



Primal Defense is a mini game that is currently in beta development. If you love tower defense games, now you can have one in WoW for while flying, etc. The game boasts 41 levels of enemies, 6 types of towers, and a map recognizable by tower defense fans. Make an offering of your enemies' essences to the Primal Gods to increase your power through blessings. Give your feedback and watch the game become polished and finished.
